This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) governs how EyeT LLC (“Eye.t”) collects, uses, maintains, and discloses information collected from users (each, a “Student”) of the Eye.t Learning Portal (the “Platform”). This Policy applies to the Platform and all educational courses offered by the Platform.

By visiting eyetvision.org or any subdomain of it, you agree that your information or your child’s information will be handled as described in this Policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please do not proceed to enroll or log in to the Platform. Each time you enroll or log in will be deemed your acceptance of this Policy as it is when you enroll or log in.

Minors

Students under the age of 18 using our platform must have parental or guardian permission before creating an account. Students under the age of 13 are not permitted to use the platform with personalized and identifying login credentials. Eye.t does not knowingly collect or store any personally identifiable information from or about students under the age of 13, and we will promptly delete such information if we become aware that it has been submitted through our platform.

Parents or legal guardians who believe that the Eye.t might have any personally identifiable information from or about a student under the age of 13 may submit a request to info@eyetvision.org for us to remove such information.

Personally Identifiable Information

We may collect personally identifiable information (“PII”) from Students in various ways, including, but not limited to, when Students enroll in the Platform or a course within the Platform, subscribe to a newsletter, and in connection with other educational activities, services, features, or resources we make available in our Platform. Students may visit the Platform anonymously. We will collect PII from Students only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Students can refuse to supply PII, but doing so may prevent them from engaging in certain educational activities within the Platform or from using the Platform at all.

At this time, we only collect the following PII from students:

  • Username (which does not need to be the student’s legal name)
  • Email address sponsored by the school

Other Data Collection

The Platform also stores data that is not PII, such as test scores, completed activities, and account activity timestamps based on students’ use of the Platform. Our website and the Platform may also collect data about site usage, through cookies and other technologies, including your domain name, IP address, or device ID.

You may disable cookies using your web browser’s settings. The Help portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to adjust the cookie settings to manage cookies. Visitors to the Platform may experience limited functionality.

How We Use The Collected Data

We use collected data to improve the educational services of the Platform. Information you provide helps us respond to your educational service requests, support Students’ needs more efficiently, and to personalize the educational experience. We may use information in the aggregate to understand how our Students, as a group, use the educational services and resources provided in our Platform.

We may also use PII to send periodic communications to Students via their school-provided email addresses, such as information and updates about their educational activities. Student email addresses may also be used to respond to Student inquiries, questions, or other educational requests.

We do not sell, trade, or rent Student PII to others.

Data Security and Retention

We take steps consistent with industry standards and legal requirements to protect PII from unauthorized access, misuse, or alteration. Please be aware that despite our best efforts, no data security measures can guarantee 100% security.

We only retain PII as long as is necessary for the purpose it was collected. When that purpose is no longer applicable, we will delete it. You may request deletion of your or your Student’s PII by contacting us at info@eyetvision.org. If the Platform does not allow you to edit the information you have submitted, you may also request that we correct it. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe.

In certain circumstances we may retain your Personal Data to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

We may need certain PII in order to continue providing a particular service with the Platform. In that case, a request to delete your information may require closing your account or otherwise discontinuing access to the Platform.

Please note that copies of information that you have updated, modified, or deleted may remain viewable in cached and archived pages of any website or web application for a period of time.

If you are unsatisfied with the way we have handled your PII, you have the right to complain to the relevant data protection authority(s) for where you live.

Please email info@eyetvision.org with inquiries.
